What do you get out of the NEBOSH Diploma?

So you've read all about the NEBOSH Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals, but what is it you actually get out of it?

May 2021

The beauty of the NEBOSH Diploma is the accredited stamp of approval any successful learners receive. The course is known globally as the quintessential health and safety qualification.

You get a proper qualification

You always get what you put in. The NEBOSH Diploma course level is considered to be comparable to an Honours Degree standard.

The level of study is the same, with the main difference to a degree being the amount of time that it takes to complete. A typical Honours Degree will take around 3 to 4 years, full time to complete. In contrast, the NEBOSH Diploma requires a total of 475 hours, and the good news is that you can achieve this degree standard vocational qualification within just over a year.

The qualification is recognised globally with organisations such as;

  • The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
  • The Australian OHS Education Accreditation Board
  • Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP)
  • The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
  • New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM)
  • South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (SAIOSH)
